Granted I'm not a driver but I don't see PVDs as that big of a deal IF and only if there is strong language about their use being contained to peak season and under certain circumstances. A lot of the drivers I talk to in major metro areas tell me they don't know how their building would do peak without them. Really who PVDs seem to hurt the most are air drivers.

One of the biggest issues drivers have now with Peak Season PVD's is that they lose their overtime hours due to the massive use of PVD's by the Company. Many Drivers are only working 8 to 9 hours daily,, where in past peaks seasons Package Drivers have enjoyed the benefit of as much overtime as they wished.

The members of the UPS National Negotiating Committee are bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement they were required to sign by O'Brien, in order to participate in negotiations. Sean promised full transparency in his campaign and now has reneged on that promise. This is the same O'Brien, who with Ken Hall, entered into a concessionary back-room agreement with UPS, that allowed UPS to stop providing its superior Company health care plans that so many of our UPS members enjoyed.

Well guess what, Sean has done it again with PVD's and it should be of no surprise to those who know O'Brien.

There are many on the National Negotiating committee who think it's a horrible idea to give UPS PVD's, but they know if they go against what Sean has agreed to, they will be subject to harassment, retaliation and humiliation at the hands of Sean's repressive regime.

But some members of the National Negotiating Committee are leaking out this information in the hope that the members will speak out and Sean will pull back on his PVD agreement.

Karla Schumann of Local 104 was one of the National Negotiating Committed members who said she had no issues with PVD's, when asked by Sean. She's not going to put her IBT stipend at risk by saying no to this concessionary proposal. And that is true about many others UPS committee members on a stipend. The stipend is more important to them, then the interests of their UPS members.

As much as I distrust Sean O'Brien, I a also distrust anything that comes from the Rome Aloise loyalists.
