Hey Joe I think I agree with TDU on this one. We've already got so much to disagree about in the union why add US foriegn policy to the mix?

I don't always agree with TDU's choices, but the record shows 1) a focus on the Union's core mission, and 2) a balance in keeping both pro-labor Democrats and Left sectarians from piggy-backing on TDU organizing.

What's the harm in allowing the resolution to recieve an up or down vote? It's a resolution, it's non binding. So much for democracy. TPU has lost the D. Toilet Paper Unionists? What a bunch of cowardly asswipes. Don't take on anything controversial it might affect your cash flow.

How i feel is i dont want the teamsters or my local union to take any stand on this. It is irrelevant to our cause.

The TDU constitution literally says it doesn't get involved with political causes. They've been consistent in the interpretation and application.
Members can bring up politics at Local meetings all they want.

I think the only harm is that it sets a precident and others will want their political issues heard even when they have nothing to do with the union. However I would never be so bold as to suggest how TDU should operate, nor do I care.

I agree and was being sarcastic. If you feel the need to propose it at the convention, so be it. Is it productive to the cause? Not really. I feel ya.
