This is a prime example of just how Amazon and companies like UPS actually have plans and strategies. They plan out the next five and ten years if not more. We should take their example , we should have long range plans with campaigns set for organizing, there needs to be planning now for the next contract even those that are a few years off. We need to stop letting the company set the issues by creating them . An example could be how UPS has set the next contract issue by negotiating a reduction in pension contributions. That will cause an issue years from now that we will have to try and fix it . Also by then the automation will be out of control necessitating our attention there and thereby taking attention away from other concerns.
Its time to stop press releases and feel good hand shake photos and get down to real planning with real ( not practice) mobilization and build a modern day plan for our future.
