Here's an idea. We get back into negotiations with the company, bargain the best tentative agreement we can squeeze out of them. Take a few weeks to communicate exactly what's in it, in real contract language, then give a couple weeks to make sure that every Teamster member has had an opportunity to vote, by mail or electronic voting. If the proposed contract is rejected we can strike immediately.

We have plenty of experience doing this right.

If this is as important, as everyone knows it is, shouldn't we take the time to do it right so there's no doubt about the integrity of the vote.

All that sounds good, but the longer members look over the contract the more likely they notice the warts. Sell it to the full timers, limit the time and access to read the real changes, vote it in person limiting part time involvemnt, pass the contract and the OZholes remain in power for years to come. Its seems like maybe the timing of this performance was off by a couple of weeks. If they get a last minute offer and rush a vote we'll know this has been in the bag, they've already listed 55 TA's and all supplements agreed to. We know UPS has money and will direct it at voters. What's the point of all this drama?

There's no contract vote because there currently is no proposal to present to the membership yet. Once a proposal is received that is recommended by the committee or a last/best and final is received, members will be given notice on how voting will be conducted

It doesn't matter how things were done last time, the vote process may not be the same. It will be up the committee on whether they want a speedy vote or not.
