Is there an offer that members can review? Or is this simply a strike vote in the blind? Authorize a strike that leadership can call when and if necessary? The leadership will tell the members that UPS is shaking in their boots because of this vote on nothing. UPS on the other hand will gauge how many members participate, have their supervisors with their ears open to listen to how many members don't want to really strike, while some members vote to strike thinking they can bring UPS to their knees. Actually, if there isn't a "planned" short strike, and UPS actually allows a strike to happen, it means the company has a plan. This could be disaster! Zuckerman's tough guy talk is simply theatrics by a very bad actor. Members deserve more honesty and better than this...

The IBT has an electronic voting system that could have been used to take this vote where all UPSers would have the opportunity to vote without the worry of management or anyone else looking over their shoulders at the gates. Everyone, including this administration, knows that some people won't go to union meetings no matter what the reason. If O'Lyin really wanted all the UPSers to vote, he would be using the electronic system. Something seems off about all of this.

The last negotiation ,they had the votes in by today ((the 6th). In 2013, they didn't even hold a vote. But, Kurwood should know... since after all he has been a "union activist" for a very long time. Legend has it, he was playing the rusty trombone in 2013.

This should not have been a walk in vote. The Locals and even committee members were taken by surprise and all responsibility has been thrown their way.

Members are going to ask about the issues, so how about we lose the NDA's and lets see the actual proposals.

They used this tactic on several contract votes in the past. When UPS freight voted their contract down electronically (giving everyone the opportunity to vote privately) they decided to vote it over until you get it right. Members were made to go vote in person at the hall. Many locals told their members they were voting on keeping their jobs. It passed overwhelmingly after UPS had dried up the freight and left members sitting at home.
