At this rate there won't even be a tentative agreement to vote on August 1st. Just a couple of unfinished contracts and a strike vote. Unless UPS gets serious like, immediately. I have a hard time imagining both getting completed if they wait till two months before expiration.

It wasn't too hard to see this coming, I for one am tired of seeing pictures of Teamster Negotiating Committees facing empty chairs. UPS is showing their disrespect everyday and soon the results will show as shippers seek alternatives.

This is totally their fault too. It's not like they didn't have time to prepare for this. We told them months in advance we'd be doing the supplements first. One of my coworkers asked me what UPS's end game is on stalling until last minute. I said, "that's assuming they have one."

This is going to be a disaster. How can you negotiate the supplements before the master? The supplements are based off the master.

Kentwood probably thinks everything is going great.

According to Carol B. Tome "we have a contingency plan" and when asked what the contingency was. Her answer was "contingency plan". I look at these supervisors and they are the most undisciplined bunch I have ever seen. UPS has a plan but will that plan be achievable. Who knows.

This was done because of the New England UPSers that got $6.20 in pension for 10 years. The company pulled them out of the failing New England Fund. So now they are gonna low ball them like the Central States members and O'Brien is gonna attempt to hold the national hostage.

The New England Supplement will be a major problem.

Exactly! That's what happens when you turn over the whole union back in the hands to the very people who have destroyed your livelihood for 20+ years.

It's baffling to see this contract being negotiated in the manner it is. In my local, I was shocked to hear the principal officer wanting article 2 in the master renegotiated. That article is probably the strongest language in the contract. I have been for years referencing that language to prove how strong the supplement language is and the master should never be referred on any particular issue.

Another problem is TDU. They are simply nothing more than a radical Marxist group who believes union and labor are one of the same when they are not. 140,000 Teamsters HAD the best healthcare money can buy. Ken Paff thought it was a novel idea to transfer our healthcare to a union funded account and bolster the benefits in the fund. Why the hell would you do that when the company plan had a Maintenance Of Benefits clause? Now, we do not. We got stuck with that bill and now have co-pays and deductibles. Even his own lawyer posted a letter on the detriments of union plan compared to the in place company plan. TDU in essence was the problem and not the solution in 2013-2014.

Actually TDU which is part of the non Marxist Democratic Socialists of America stood against Teamcare.

                          TDU is today worthless.

I totally disagree. TDU supported union run healthcare, TeamCare. They did not support keeping the company run healthcare in place. Why the hell would anyone in their right mind want to eliminate the MOB (Maintenance Of Benefits) clause?

Also, Ken Paff quoted Karl Marx many times and actually celebrated his birthday on Facebook. I know more than enough about him and his mindset to say yes, he is a Marxist and supports Marxist theory.
