So here is the chain of events. The DOJ/TDU/IRB group knew better than to keep any of the people who worked at the IBT, or at least the ones with a brain, and a mouth. Carey kept some and they reported to the opposition every day that Carey was in office. OBrian's handlers were not going to make that mistake again. Everyone gone. Then for the last 20 years, Hoffa heard he was better off letting YRC go down, because regardless of the fact the YRC members accepted concession after concession to save their jobs, they would never own up to it, and blame the Union, not the company. That message was not lost on the political broadcast machine that runs OZ. Maybe they are taking a tough guy position to either scare the members again into "saving their jobs", which is unlikely, as there is no one with any dignity, or respect for the members, dealing with this. Maybe, more probably, they will allow YRC to finally die, and they won't have 22,000 members hating them any longer. Just a theory but track it.

Instead of trying to "scare the members again" how about we try something new. Wouldn't it be nice if the IBT put as much resources as necessary into an honest and direct campaign to present a verified accounting of the companies situation to the members. Then let members decide what is in their best interest. The question is how much do freight members trust the IBT?
