Why is there an endorsement question now?

I don't ever remember a vote of TDU membership to endorse Ron, Tom, Sandy or Fred. Is there an expected vote at the TDU convention this year? If so, why? If so, how is it decided which candidates? Or is SOB the only "name" on the question to be called? If so, why? Maybe these issues have already been raised and accepted? If not, it only makes sense that the questions get raised and answered by a democratic body.
