Whatever the outcome will be for our Union and the BLET members, taking the strike weapon away from the 99.9% of the members that voted to strike as early as tomorrow, and exchanging that rank & file vote for barring strike action until next Spring, and asking for a Trump emergency board to recommend a settlement, is contrary to just about everything GP O'Brien claims he stands for. It was the limitations of Railway Labor Act that O'Brien used as a premise for not endorsing VP Kamala Harris for US President. The iron is hot, the rank & file are prepared to strike, but GP O'Brien decides to rely , not on the power of the rank & file, but on a board, I assume (not entirely clear in the article) that will be appointed by Trump.

I'm also assuming that GP O'Brien and the GEB has the means to convince BLET leadership to forego using a Trump emergency board and use the full power of the striking members and the tens of thousands of Teamster members living in Metro NYC, to win the demands the Union seeks.
