Well, it was a good read. At times it read in generalities that did not resonate. I suppose that "reformism", for the purpose of this article, depends on what the writer relates it to. It was a good read with good intent.

Interesting viewpoint. But, to walk away is a luxury working Teamsters can ill afford. The article also raises issues that have a long history within TDU: To continue to build a bottom up movement of rank and file members, or focus support on allying with leaders starting with Ron Carey and today TDU "leadership"'s focus on blind support for OZ, like lemmings walking off a cliff. The election of the Ron Carey Slate in 1992 and 1997 were tremendous steps forward. But, I believe, TDU as a rank and file organization changed significantly as a result.

I think many of us think TDU's migration to OZland was sudden and swift. Actually not, it's been on the road to nothingness for many years. I agree that members cannot just walk away. As stated by a previous poster if "a seat at the table put's you on the menu it's of no use". The hope that TDU and Labor Notes would be vehicles of change has been dead for longer than most of us are willing to acknowledge. Grass roots militancy is the only answer.
