Thank you Brother Carl Gregory! So very well stated. And demanding an end to mandatory 70 hours on duty in an 8 day period, used to be a basic tenet of the long-standing TDU Rank & File Bill of Rights:
"End 70 hour slavery" it used to read, but now discarded by the powers within TDU. You are absolutely (in my view) correct: TDU has forsaken it's past. John Palmer has continued to honor what TDU stood for from it's very early commitments to rank and file power. Building rank and file power must always be primary; electing International officers is certainly helpful in our struggle for union democracy and economic justice. But there is no substitute for the united power and solidarity of the rank and file membership.
