ABF and the Teamsters under Ernie Sohel agreed to extend the contract expiration to July 31st. You better bet O'Brien will give them an extension just like he did at Costco.

He is there for the photo ops so that the pictures can be plastered all over social media to make it look like he gives a shit. Don't be fooled. He doesn't. And if you ask him questions during his visit that he doesn't like, he gets very confrontational and defensive and you better watch your back from that point on because it will have a target on it and he will retaliate.

Your username kind of says it all. I don't know what the issue or events are, and it looks like you want to understandably not give details, its shameful when any Teamster is concerned about retaliation. I know its reality but we shouldn't stand for it.

I stood up against O'Brien and his cronies and it cost me my career. As soon as he had his first GEB meeting, the decision was made under the guise of something completely fictional and that was the end of my career. After that, I watched people that had run against his slate, spoken up against him over the years, fought against his closest minions, cower like hunted animals and start kissing his (and his cronies) asses because they were afraid the same thing was going to happen to them. What I've learned is that if you dare cross O'Brien or any of his closest cronies, they will come after you. There have already been unions that have been dismantled or been the targets of nonstop harassment in the form of investigations, audits, threats of trusteeship if you report the harassment to the IIO or fight him in any way or they just put out lies about you to the public.

You don't unify a union by starting out seeking revenge on all your perceived enemies, especially when they all happened to be Teamsters. Firing half the people at the IBT wasn't the best unifying move and its downhill from there. Burned is also right about everyone afraid to speak out, afraid for their jobs. These jobs are hard enough without all this BS. And yes we get very little for our percapita and even less now.
