This conflict over who should've been endorsed is what is destroying this Union. Most of the members are concerned on other issues rather than a favor the Union Bosses might get to make there job easier.

It's NOT the conflict that is creating dissention. It was O'Brien's decision to support anti-union politicians that want to destroy the union that he has sworn to protect. Although, I agree that there are other important issues. However, if those politicians get their way there will no longer be a Teamsters Union as we know it. Pretty important issue, no? We will be set back by about 75 years. The Teamsters Union should be leading the fight amongst all unions against these forces. So, now, somebody please tell me. Why doesn't he do it? "Pugilistic" my ass!

    O'Briens LYING.
Either to Boston Magazine or the Federal Goverment. The 2024 LM-2, (filed by unions annually with the Dept of Labor) showed a loss of 16,000 members, and the year before that was just a gain of a few thousand. As they say: you can't have it both ways. SOB will do anything to make the home town "power list", including lying about gaining 50,000 members and these media ass kissers never do any research.
    Changemaker my ass.

"Pugilistic"? That's beautiful. He's all talk. He did fight with Locals that were trying to protect the Teamsters from anti-union politicians and anti-union appointments. That's a beautiful word, "pugilistic". It fits SOB. He fights for the wrong side though. Here, I have a question for SOB. When you fight for anti-union politicians that have historically wanted your union to be destroyed...the one that you are supposed to protect first and foremost...who's side are you on? Cut the bullshit!

Pretty sad, coming in 96th in a list of Boston power players. Being beaten out by a guard from the Celtics, and a host from a Youtube channel (Java with Jimmy) with 20k followers.. I guess being the GP of the Teamsters isn't what it used to be.

            Gimliboston9:

And it was another Local 25 President, George Cashman, that palled around with mobsters (the DeSilva trucking family that delivered a lot of the dairy products for Stop and Shop out of Readville).
Cashman was lined up to be Teamster GP one day, but he did himself in by getting convicted of kickbacks from employers. Cashman was considered a reformer back in the day. He and Santosuasso got beat up campaigning as IBT Convention delegates in the 70's; oppositionists to Billy McCarthy. What is it about the air around Sullivan Square in Charlestown?

He is a retired state trooper, I assume he works with the IIO ( formerly IRB)
