He, like Trump, has become a real professional at not answering the questions. Kinda useless to interview him since he already knows the answer to everything. And let's not talk about how we lost both the freight and carhual industries in last 3 years, after 40 years of IBT protecting core jobs and Teamster benefits as the highest priority. He even dumped large org campaigns in both sectors in 2022 (with ratified first contracts) b/c he didn't start them. Vindicative mass firing of existing workers on day 1. Sounds like Trumpy and his Muskrat.at work.
Folks don't realize that letting one large employer go banko after after ups departure from cspf would have tipped it and other funds over., as in pbgc. Taking pol hits for doing the right thing is what leaders do. Whatever you say, Hoffa measured all the other constituents...feds, funds, jcs, supps, pe firms that owned the cos, etc to keep people working under good contracts.
Lastly, the old guard did one thing - let the effected members VOTE on all contracts and economic contract mods. And they always voted to save their jobs after buckets of info being sent to their homes and explained in detail by the IBT. The egos of the latest crowd don't think that's important anymore - simply, we will decide everything. Sounds like a very Trumpian approach to unionism, eh?

SOB said a lot of nothing. He was asked three times about DOLS "policies". Never once answered the question. If he in fact had positive things to say about her "policies" he would have stated policies. He gets worse every day. What a disgrace! How do any Labor people associated with him remain silent? I've been around long enough to see so many so-called reformists at different levels/ bureaucracies "get theirs'" and then sleep with the devil. The beat goes on. It's a way of the world. Reform is necessary again (still)!

He blew an opportunity to show real support for workers on PBS. Couldn't answer a question or take a positition, who's side is SOB on? Couldn't respond on behalf of our Canadian members on the tariff issue, one in which they are vehemently opposed to Trump. He's keeping all his personal options open well beyond the union.

If he truly and genuinely believed that he would have answered the questions rather than deflect and dance. He intentionally failed to answer direct questions. Guess he thinks that the rank and file ain't really that smart and would not notice.

Spot on! What is hugely disappointing is the percentage of those that are aware of this (GEB, JCs, Local Officers, R&F, TDU,) remain silent. I watched this crap for 30 plus years. Now, I'm saying here...I don't think for a moment that SOB is the worst GP that we've ever had. Cripes! Prior to Carey it was disgusting. Still, wrong is wrong. SOB is very harmful to our union. SOB is wrong. We have the great responsibility of always working toward a grand scheme and doing the best that we can to achieve it.
