While doing some research, I came across the Proceedings of the 1940 IBT Convention. The delegates were addressed by both Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins and FDR. If you want to see what a real pro-union president sounds like, I suggest you read Roosevelt's speech. As for Perkins, she complimented the delegates for addressing the concerns of all workers, not just themselves. "It has been part of the glory of the American labor movement...that it has always desired to contribute to the common welfare. Never has there been a time...when the American labor movement has stood aside and said these matters of other people are of no interest to us, we are for the Teamsters and only the Teamsters. The American labor movement has never said that, and I hope it never will." A far fall to "Teamsters v. Everyone."
