Another incredible episode of "Better Bad Ideas w/ Sean O'Brien" however not in a good way. First thing, he truly loves the GOP. He still says he is Dem but more like a Republican-lite. He humanized Josh Hawley without recognizing the damage he has done. Did SOB forget that Senator Hawley on Jan. 6, 2020 put his first in the air to encourage the January 6 rioters, maybe SOB thought they were patriots.

Some lowlights.

"... the Democratic party that it once was has became the Republican party of falling in love with corporate America trying to be an elitist..." So why take a photo with Vivek Ramaswamy or did he just not know how Vivek made his money. Hey, at least SOB ushered in "A Golden Age ahead for all Americans. Thank You."

It only gets worse.

"I think the biggest problem is people are trying to protect illegal aliens that come over here and commit crimes and that's unacceptable."

And he later adds

"Social issues are well and good, but protecting illegal immigrants that come into our country to commit crimes and steal jobs, that's a tough pill to swallow."
He is repeating right-wing talking points. The border is just one part of the immigration issue, but for the right-wing that is the only issue when it comes to immigration. There are Teamsters that are working on becoming US citizens because they came to the US at a young age and grew up here. They did not steal jobs. Those comments are a slap in the faces of all those hard working undocumented workers who took jobs that no US citizens want to do.

I would love to know what he considers social issues? Seems like immigration is.

I don't get the O'Brien /Hawley love fest. In Hawley's home state he's generally disliked by labor including the teamsters, until O'Brien anyway.

His people immigrated. My people immigrated. What percentage of Teamster members (by virtue of being indigenous) doesn't have immigrant forebearers? This is (overwhelmingly) a nation of immigrants.

People who come here to work aren't stealing jobs. They're contributing.

Has any Teamster officer, IBT or Local, called out O'Brien for this garbage?
