I don't understand what the issue is? Two former police officers were hired by the IBT. Is there more to this? Howie Carr has no credibility and doesn't even explain anything other then saying they were hired.

They hired two former cops tied to corruption scandals in Massachusetts. What's not to understand?

Daniel Risteen, hired by O'brien as a "field services director" at $226,052" a year (total paid in 2023 per LM-2), retired from the Mass State Police after being implicated in two separate incidents. First, he was accused of removing embarassing information from the arrest report of a judge's daughter. Second, he was implicated in the questionable hiring of an admited drug dealer and money launderer into the State Police, who just so happened to be his girlfriend at the time.

Frances Hughes, hired by O'brien as "Chief Investigator" at $208,138 (total paid in 2023 per LM-2), retired after the arrest report scandal referenced above came to light. His retirement came days after his immediate supervisor retired "under a cloud of accusations about the altered arrest report."

If you don't see the inherent problems with all this, you're either being purposefully obtuse or you're just an idiot. Even setting the scandals aside, the fact that we've got another two hires for top positions from the Boston area suggests union money isn't being used in the best interest of the membership. Did they conduct a nation-wide search for these top two positions in order to find the best candidates? Or is O'brien using member money to give his friends cushy jobs? Better yet, does a Field Services Department even exist? There's no mention of it on the IBT website, and there's no staff mentioned in the LM-2 other than Risteen.?

Again, if you don't see the issue here, you're either a fool or you're just an apologist for the SOB administration. Or more likely, you're part of the SOB administration.

I was commenting on a horribly written article that didn't have any facts. Now that you brought more content and context, were they charged or arrested for anything?
I believe Risteen worked for JC10 for a couple years prior to the IBT.
