    Teamsters Mobilize and Maoists

I am writing to express my deep concern and strong condemnation regarding the inclusion of Maoist members in Teamsters Mobilize, especially their inclusion on its Steering Committee. As a dedicated member of the Teamsters and a staunch leftist, I believe it is crucial to maintain our integrity and ideological clarity by excluding those who adhere to Maoist principles, given the historical atrocities and systemic failures associated with Mao Zedong and his followers.

It has come to my attention that several members of the Steering Committee of Teamsters Mobilize have open affiliations with Maoist ideology. The influence of these individuals within our organization raises serious concerns about the direction and principles of our movement. Our union's mission is to defend workers' rights, promote solidarity, and pursue social justice. Allowing Maoists, whose ideology is steeped in authoritarianism and repression, to hold influential positions undermines these core values.

Mao Zedong's legacy is marred by a series of catastrophic policies and brutal campaigns that resulted in immense suffering and loss of life. The Great Leap Forward (1958-1962), a radical economic and social campaign, aimed to rapidly transform China from an agrarian society into a socialist society through industrialization and collectivization. This ill-conceived policy led to one of the deadliest famines in human history, with estimates of deaths ranging from 15 to 45 million people. The working class and peasantry, whom Mao purported to champion, bore the brunt of this disastrous experiment.

Additionally, the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976) was a decade-long period of political and social chaos initiated by Mao to reassert his control and eliminate perceived bourgeois elements within the Communist Party and society at large. This movement targeted intellectuals, professionals, and ordinary citizens, resulting in widespread persecution, imprisonment, torture, and execution. The very people who should have been the vanguard of socialist progress were instead subjected to extreme violence and repression.

Even before these infamous campaigns, Mao's actions against the working class and intelligentsia were evident. During the early revolutionary period, his strategies often involved violent purges and suppression of dissent within the Communist Party itself. The Anti-Rightist Campaign of 1957, for instance, sought to silence critics and led to the persecution of hundreds of thousands of intellectuals, further stifling critical thought and innovation.

The principles and actions of Maoism stand in stark contrast to the values we that we, as unionists, ought to uphold. Our movement is rooted in the defense of workers' rights, the promotion of solidarity, and the pursuit of social justice. The authoritarianism, disregard for human life, and anti-intellectualism inherent in Maoist ideology are antithetical to these principles. By allowing Maoists into our ranks, particularly in leadership positions, we risk undermining our credibility and betraying the very foundations of our cause.

Furthermore, I must address a personal matter that underscores the inconsistency and injustice within Teamsters Mobilize. After having helped found the organization, I have been banned from the organization based on rumors, slander, and actions that occurred almost a decade ago, for which I have paid in spades. This ban not only reflects a lack of due process and fairness but also highlights the selective application of scrutiny and accountability. It is profoundly troubling that while I face exclusion based on outdated and resolved issues, individuals who support an ideology responsible for mass atrocities and genocide are allowed to influence our union's direction.

It is essential that we hold Maoist adherents to account for the historical crimes and oppressive policies associated with their ideology. Their inclusion in this group not only disrespects the memory of the millions who suffered under Mao's rule but also jeopardizes any commitment to genuine socialist principles. We must ensure that our movement remains free from the influence of those who advocate for a distorted and violent interpretation of socialism.

Sean O'Brien's speech at the RNC in support of Trump has left many in the union feeling that the Teamsters President doesn't represent them.

You mention Teamsters Mobilize but I am puzzled when you write "the influence of these individuals within our organization" yet how can you be in an organization that you are not a member of.

I will never understand why people prescribe to those type of theories and then try to apply them to the union. Communism never did and never will work. Name one person who is willing to give up their private property to the state. It is just a theory that has never been applied fully and completely. The only countries that came close were Vietnam and Cuba in my opinion. If you want a great example of China and Mao, look at the Great Leap Forward (huge failure). China right now is not a communist country. It has a free market with tighter controls. I will even say that Karl Marx and Friedrich Engles were never the godfathers of Communism. This system of control was passed down to them by a society (Communist League) to mind fuck people in to thinking that they were placing power in the people's hands, which was far from the truth. It is just like Capitalism that people say is the problem. It's not, it's called crony-capitalism. Look at all those people who profited from war (Rockefellers, Carnegie, Mellon, Frick, JP Morgan, DuPont, ETC ETC).

I can remember making a statement about going to the United Socialists State of New York, After the TDU meeting wrapped up, a guy met me outside and tried to tell me how communism works. I went in to economic theory (Keynesian vs Austrian) and reminded him that it didn't matter who controlled the state, it should never apply to unions.

I really don't know what Maoism is. I do know his leadership lead to the deaths of millions.

I am probably just like you. I believe the Democrats are probably one of the most dumbest people on the planet. We are seeing a shift of the right side at least willing to listen to the unions. People are sick and tired of the rhetoric. When Hillary ran, she blew it with the Appalachian Democrats when she said she was going to end the Coal Industry. My family lives in the Appalachian mountains and there was a huge shift. Practically every lawn in the area had a Trump sign, including the farmers. It previously was predominately Democrat. Not no more.

I mean seriously, we have a candidate who is using identity politics to sway votes and it ain't working. She once claimed to celebrate Kwanza. Well, that should be far from the truth. Her father even told her to stop saying she was black. Her father was of Irish and Hindu decent and her mother was 100% Hindu. If you want to parade around like you are Rachel Dolezal, you are going to turn the electorate away real quick.

Respectfully brother this is nothing like Dolezal. Harris has an Indian mother and a Black Jamaican father.

                  Trump donated to Harris
In fact, Trump donated a total of $6,000 to her campaign for California attorney general in 2011 and 2013.

The Bay Area has long been, and remains, a hippie-dippie bastion of Democrats who voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020. But theres a small, powerful sect of Silicon Valley billionaires who are carving a path for the maybe-Trumpers and the MAGA-curious in the tech world.
