Funny you brought that up. All that money spent for labor lawyers to sit in on our contracts. Our local union finally fired the firm that sucked then went and replaced them with a firm that help negotiate the 2013 contract (worst contract in UPS history).

I may have been wrong about Burtonsville MD. I spoke to the driver in our building last week. He said they were still open but acknowledged that Baltimore was closing. I asked 5 full time management and they told me the same thing, the volume was coming from the closing of that building. Regardless, It should be an interesting 5 years. Thanks Sean!

Ask Sean. He promised to fight it. Nobody can deny that all these layoffs are due to the ongoing process of revamping every building. I am not one who would want to stop the progress of technology but when it comes to jobs, that is the job of the union to preserve them.

And here is where you can find it in the contract. It's under Article 6 Section 4 called Technological Change.

If he (Sean O'Brien) wanted to negotiate or "Stop" any type of automation, this is where it would have been done in the contract. He was the one who bragged that he was going to curb automation to save good paying union jobs. Well, he sure did the opposite.

Wrong **** sucker. The jobs that are coming back are because of the shifting of the volume. My building for instance is seeing an influx of packages because of the local hubs that are closing. The volume will be shifted from building to building until the automation is complete. This is all in the early stages. Any time Carol Tome talks about saving on labor costs, that means JOBS. Get a clue!

No one expects miracles but we do expect honesty, and we haven't seen much of that. O'Brien talked a lot of smack about stopping AI and Robots, it's on video, he didn't stop anything. Tome says she's going to automate everything and that's what she's doing.
