Based on the facts you presented here over the last year on all the corruption there is in your local 100 and at the IBT i am considering voting for trump because I think he will try and clean up the Teamsters. Here is your chance to talk me out of it. I am in the western conference pension fund that check Mack and Rome guarded with their life. Why should I vote for grandpa Joe?

PS, I here by nominate MR Teamster as the OZ troll of the week because of his attempts to provide OZ cover for the embarrassing support of the anti-union-anti-worker candidate.

If illegal immigration is your issue how can you be leaning toward Trump? It was just weeks ago that he made all his congressional supporters vote down the first bipartisan border bill (supported by all border unions) mostly written by a republican immigration hard liner. Trump literally told congress to not solve the problem so he could have a good campaign issue. I'm with you more often than not but on this one....

No, not your logic! Pitting worker against worker is an excuse not an answer.

Because somebody, somewhere, according to you, is anti-Teamster or anti-local, you want to vote for an anti-union-anti-worker President? How is that logical? So, who would do more damage to our union and workers, somebody somewhere or the person in control of the levers of power?

Questions;BY: ANDREW ROTH SEPTEMBER 28, 2023 ]8:16 AM What candidate appeared at an nonunion factory on September 27, 2023 (ByTrip Gabriel)

Just like the other OZ trolls on this site seams all you can do is deflect.

Yep, you have my support as the best OZ troll of the week, maybe the month!

Over 60% of the Teamster membership endorse Trump for president. That should count for something.

If 60% of Teamsters support Trump, then that should be the red flag that wakes the damn IBT education department up.

They need to start sending out monthly newsletters, educating members about what's going on in Washington and around the nation.

Our media, the Teamster magazine does very little toward educating members. It's become a propaganda rag, with only the purpose to cheerlead for the current administration.

Look at the website, not one article educating members about the key union issues in Washington DC. Or who the key appointments have been by Biden (and Trump) and what policies they've installed or changed.

Maybe a timeline article of what happens to the Teamsters union, if Trump gets in and he and his GOP flunkies pass Federal Right To Work Laws (as he supports).

Not sure if you seen this but Trump mentions the Teamsters and O'Brien. He believes he just might get the endorsement from O'Brien.

AlJackson1962: I'm repeating your comment here as a post because its the best answer yet on why a union member should vote for Biden.

Woke young socialists in the development department? I find that really hard to believe considering the last International Teamster magazine, which, by all accounts, was a blast from the very distant past.

Thanks for making absolutely clear where you stand on Teamster solidarity or concern for the hundreds of thousands of retired and current Teamsters in the Central States Plan. So, to focus your attention on the only person you apparently care about, yourself, if CSPF had gone down, all of the employers who contribute would have been subject to crushing financial obligations under ERISA. And that includes IBT locals whose officers and staff are covered by CS. Even UPS with all of its resources was afraid of a CSPF default because of the amount of withdrawal liability it would trigger. A significant number of Teamster employers would have been forced into bankruptcy, or at least faced potentially fatal financial consequences. And, to get back to you, most of those employers also participate in the Western Conference Plan. Quite literally, if CSPF had gone down, the entire Teamster pension system would have been jeopardized, including plans currently with safe levels of funding. Any superiority you are feeling by being in the Western Plan is purely illusory.
