Next election

So, does anyone know how the next election will be run? Will there be an election officer? Will the number of delegates needed be increased? Will it still be a mail in ballot? Is there a set of written rules available to the members?
With the consent decree gone anyone considering running for office needs to know these answers. It will be here before you know it.

Had only about 1500 followers, but as a unofficial Teamster news page, the union sent me a couple of cease and desist letters, which I ignored, believing that free speech would be protected.

Under pressure from union paid lawyers, facebook closed my page. I appealed, but Facebook would not answer my appeals.

I filed a labor charge claiming this was retaliation and violated my right as a union member to speak out. The labor Board dismissed the charge.

Mark Timlin and I also hosted a "Ohio Vote No" page started during the 2013 ups contract. As one of the primary administrators on the page, I did most of the adding followers (around 600).

But, as Timlin withdrew from activity, somehow Nick Perry removed me from administrator and added many of the Sean Obrien gang.

Last year, one of those jerks, Dorian Stone, a local 100 BA, was promoted to administrator and immediately removed any of my posts and banned me from the page I had started.

Stone is a convicted felon, having been convicted of impersonating a police officer. The court documents show that he flashed a stolen Cincinnati police badge, obstructed an under cover police investigation of a drug dealer. These are the kinds of people now leading our union?

I found it ironic and humorous when Timlin deleted some if the obrien gang during the 2023 contract from the main vote no page. Nick Perry wrote a scathing post on another site about being removed.
I saw it was karma coming back to him.

The shame is the current leadership at the IBT are censoring any opposing voices. They do not accept any difference of opinions no one is allowed to think for themselves.

If somebody like Nick Perry is for it then it definitely is a good thing. Nick Perry is a reformer and a tireless teamster advocate. If Nick Perry like this contract, it was a good contract, pal.

I believe the IDO is still functioning because of ongoing infractions, but the Office of the Elections Supervisor will not be involved this time. This should be cause for concern.

You should probably start by reading the IBT Constitution on issues of the final order and elections. This wacky conspiracy theory would get debunked pretty quickly. And any changes by delegates to the Constitution would take effect in the next term, generally speaking. Not that there would be an appetite to changing the current election structure.

You should probably start by reading the IBT Constitution on issues of the final order and elections. This wacky conspiracy theory would get debunked pretty quickly. And any changes by delegates to the Constitution would take effect in the next term, generally speaking. Not that there would be an appetite to changing the current election structure.
