How many locals have been dissolved and merged into O'Brien friendly ones?

Excellent question! If you know of a merger since Oz took office please post on this site.

I thought mergers needed to be by member vote? If members approve, what's the problem?

Building delegate strength for the next convention. No one speaking up, no one protesting GEB members growing their locals. Next, increase the percentage to be nominated and low and behold, no opposition. Eliminate any officer who dares to speak up, using the iio or trusteeship, and everyone else backs off in self-preservation.
What TDU brags about changing; ironically they now are assisting to undermine future democracy in the Teamsters. The government, oz, tdu all undermining the member's strength.

You will see more and more merge as membership declines. They are not capable of building density under this new organizing director. School Bus Drivers and Marijuana Growers is all they've been organizing.

It doesn't make any sense if you give a dam about the union. These guys are just protecting their jobs.

bigfoot, the local your thinking about was 962. Trusteed based on one complaint then split up between VP Davison and his good buddy at 483. No member vote.

Darrel the barrel? How can a local merge with another local when they are essentially in the red? I guess that happens when you decide to push stuff through without members voting.

The 695 leadership has lost support and likely will lose next year's election. To merge the current eboard and some BAs have been offered jobs at 120.

The Rebuild 695 slate has their own website and FB page. Some of them were TDU members and left after Ken Paff begged them not to run because the current leadership had endorsed O'Brien and he didn't want them to jeopardize TDUs relationship with O'Brien.

Hopefully they are able to stop the merger.

In other words a merger to prevent losing an election in '25. Was wondering what the incentive was for the current 695 Board. Thats some sleazy shit.

Didn't the head of that slate leave the Teamsters for a staff position in another union? They didn't support any slate in the IBT election, but still ran for Local office afterwards (and lost). They missed their shot in the previous Local election, with a close loss. The PO retired after the IBT election, giving up the JC leadership too. This local has been crushed by Act 10/RTW in Wisconsin.

Look what happened to Hollywood Local 399 and New Mexico Local 492. She took all the movie Teamsters from them.

I'm wondering how do the losing Principle officer really feel about mergers, it states that the Eboard recommends the merger but that will put a lot of those eboard and BA's out of work. Has anyone heard what really happened with Local 14 and 986 merger?

The 695 eboard and some BAs have been offered jobs. The 986 and 14 merger was abandoned. Some shady shit went down. I think they will be merged with 631 or be allowed to retain their own charter.

O'Brien is out of control. His steroid use has him thinking with his small balls instead of his Barry Bonds head.

O'Brien and Coli's bagman Rainville don't care. They are shutting out all opposition. Get out of the way, shut up and take your meds. It will all be better when you wake up.
