Furthermore, one of the charges in question pertains to the allocation of union funds to the anti-union law firm Nixon Peabody, which actively sought to silence dissenting voices within our union, including three Teamster retirees because of their founding of this very forum. This allocation represents a misuse of union resources and a violation of the trust placed in our leadership to act in the best interests of all members.

Given the seriousness of these allegations and the potential implications for the integrity of our union, it is imperative that an independent investigation be conducted to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the allocation of union funds and any other related misconduct. Let's give credit for the OZ regime's trying to increase efficiency in the IBT. I use regime to indicate this maneuver crosses the line from a democratic administration governed by a constitution to one man rule governed by his own needs and whims. They could have followed the constitution and referred the charges to the GEB for evaluation and dismissal. But having the General President, aka the "charged party", consult with his hand-picked and personal counsel, aka, "the defendant's lawyer", and decide the accused was innocent, saves a lot of emails and time. But not hard to provide the requested results when your law firms have received $1,460,705 from SOB since the start of the regime. Offhand, can't think of too many bad things that have resulted from regimes that ignore the rule of law, belittle constitutional processes, and stifle their opposition.
