What is TDU?

Some of us supported TL in 1998, 2001 and 2006. Some of us supported TS in the lead up to 2016, until running for GP wasn't tenable, but we still supported leaders from 206 and 804 in that election. Some of us voted No on every UPS contract during the Hoffa era. My point is where was the criticism of TDU as an "empty store" then? When the owners of this website were the TDU darlings, happy to be supported by the "empty store"? TDU isn't Paff or Levin, but the many leaders who are involved and who have been involved. We are not an empty store. As for TL & TS, their Locals are now involved in the leadership of the IBT, something that couldn't be said since the Carey administration.

I asked you. Where were you? I sacrificed a lot to get out the NO vote in 2013. I went head on with these Hoffa Suckers. I NEVER supported Hoffa. Even if you did, I have more respect for a person who is honest about it like Geno from Massachusetts. Tim S at least spoke out against corruption in our union while members in our union supported it. Tom Leedham did the same but in a different era. I met Tom L when he was running for office in the East parking lot of my employer and I shook his hand on my way in and said, "Glad you're here, these ass holes gotta go!!!!" He might not remember me but that's how I felt then too.

How would you feel if you worked hard to rid the union of corruption and wrongdoing and then the people that you railed against and their supporters all the sudden act as if THEY were right all along. Same thing in my local (623). Richard H was a huge Hoffa ass kisser and then he had the balls to confront me and ask why I was telling people how he voted in 2013. Seriously, how would you feel? I am glad they developed this website. It slaps back at all the fakes and cowards. I for one don't appreciate a grifter who helped destroy my livelihood and stares me in the face on social media and tries to tell me how bad Hoffa was. And trust me, I don't care how old it gets, I will still speak out about these said people.

You've set up a straw man here. TDU has become the lapdog and turned a blind eye to every act of wrongdoing by the OZphonies in exchange for funding their convention and hiring a handful of their supporters. In reference to former opposition candidates and a plethora of old hat TDU'ers leaving the organization it's simple they stopped being the watchdog. It's horribly obvious to everyone close or at a distance. The argument you make is totally a false equivlancey. I am rooting for them to find the moral compass that once guided them as the watchdog, when they do, I will cheer their return to the reform movement.

I am not afraid or ashamed to say that I gave 3 years dues money to TDU and very soon after regretted it. It can be proven that I came out against TDU and why. They kept saying "Vote No till UPS gets it right", then they supported a yes vote in 804. Let's not forget the vote yes pizza party. We needed a full and complete stance against our union and TDU was simply using the movement for increase in membership. They did their best to prop up a coward, Bobby Curry and wrote all kinds of articles about him. Then David Levin called him and asked him to give a speech at one of their meetings and asked him to specifically say "I voted no in 623 but I support a yes vote here at 804".

I kept asking one simple question, How can a union run healthcare have a Maintenance of Benefits clause in their contract? It can't and never would. That would mean that we as a union would absorb all costs to run our own plan.

So sad that the membership didn't see that the people who helped destroy our impeccable healthcare needed to be punished and NOT supported. I am very disappointed with people that supported the movement and are now rewarding bad behavior.

They really don't democratically elect that steering committee. You have to pay and attend the convention, also be an active member, then they will lobby for the ones they want elected. Attend or you don't get a vote. One member one vote, not at TDU. Hurry up signup.

I remember a woman telling me on the phone that Ken Paff was bad mouthing a member to a group of people at their convention.. She said she quit right after that. I found out by talking to others that he does that a lot.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? The healthcare that we had (Company Plan) was FAR superior to any "Taft Hartley union health & welfare plan". I don't know who you are (I have an idea) but if you were really around in 2013 like you said you were, you would know that we were offered a plan that would have had us paying 20% on everything. They told us after the first vote that we couldn't change the plan they were offering but they did (C6). We got fleeced in those negotiations and Sean Obrien was all part of it. What was done to us was criminal.

I got a proposal for you just like the one I offered Hector Fortis. Come to Philly where I work, I will meet you at the gate (no violence) and I will introduce you to some people that would love to hear you run your mouth about how great union run healthcare is when talking about the health plan we had prior to 2013.
